TRIGGER POINT DRY NEEDLING
The use of solid filament needles inserted into a muscle to relieve painful trigger points. Dry needling helps to "release" the target tissue to improve mobility and decrease pain.
The application of elastic tape over specific areas/tissues. The goal is to help facilitate the body's natural healing process by relaxing muscles, providing support & improving blood/lymphatic flow.
Skilled hand movements directed toward muscles or joints. The goal(s) of this therapy include: improving joint mobility & soft tissue extensibility along with decreasing pain. Examples of this include joint manipulation & strain-counterstrain.
Evaluation of all components of a runner's program including: training practices/progression, footwear prescription, warm-up/cool-down, recovery, and most importantly, step frequency/cadence training.
In specific instances, mechanical arch support can be beneficial and help with decreasing pain, improving alignment, and enhancing function.
